Title research: Art of the title website

Today my group and I are focusing on researching titles through a helpful website called art of the title. Through this research, we hope to focus on coming up with some cool ideas to express our titles. Since our main film will be only two minutes, the idea of having titles is very important as it will take most of the time.To begin, the purpose of a title is to not only inform on who helped create the film but to also set a scene for the movie. The actual titles need to focus on naming the actors, producers and everyone who helped create the film. The titles provide information about almost everyone. The actual shot where the title is put needs to be done with purpose to catch the attention of the audience. The transitions used in order to provide titles is done to fulfill catching the attention of the audience. After watching a few clips of some opening credits, I see how it creates a certain tone for the movie that is about to be watched. For example, the exorcist which is a horror, provides a very mysterious opening with black and white colors and a very slow shot. This opening was important because it either made the audience want to stay to finish the movie or leave. The exorcist did a good job of making an opening that kept the audience mesmerized to see what comes next. Overall, some few takes that we took from watching a few openings is to always try to match the background scenes with the actual movie. The actual website provides hundreds of movie and tv show options to view their opening credits. Each movie or tv show has a title, the year it came out and either the title part of it or the interview.
