Editing Blog

The Music video is finally complete! Editing is done and the process was to say the least, fun. The outcome is something my group and I are very happy about. The transitions turned out smoothly and the clips fit well together. To begin the filming process, we had to dump the film into pinnacle studios. After this, we watched most of the film and selected the scenes that we thought would fit best. Our editing process had to do a lot with our story board. When we were inputting the scenes we picked them out in order of what our story board looked like. We did a good job on matching our film and the story board very closely. The first scene with the curtains opening, to the last scene with the camera focusing on the sun, went very smoothly. Cutting the scenes were time consuming and indecisive. Our clips from the camera were pretty long so we had to pick the part we thought fit the best. For the dancing scenes, we picked a scene that we felt was the most serious and flowed with the music. The only thing I would say, personally is that we look awkward in some of the dancing but since we are not professional actors, it was not my main concern. The scene that I talked about in my last blog when we peaked around  the tree to create a cheesy and romantic feel, turned out amazing! It made me proud to see the clip work out with the song well.
My favorite part of the editing part was making the film black and white. It took some time as we had to individually select each scene and put the black and white effect onto it.  After it was complete, it made the film look good since it completed the old fashion look. We edited in a couple of fade ins to keep the transitions smooth. There was one moment where in order to fit in for the time frame, we needed to put in another clip. We decided to go with another scene where we went from one location to another. Throughout editing, we did not have many troubles or technical difficulties. The biggest problem we had was probably deciding what clip to put into the video. However, when it came to exporting and sending the video is when the trouble started. It was nothing major, but some of the clips turned out very shaky after exporting. Overall the editing process went well, and we accomplished what we intended to.
